The “Green Start-up Project” competition is held nationwide to identify and nurture start-up models geared towards sustainable development in various fields such as clean agriculture, processing technology, community-based tourism, circular economy, and smart livelihood models adapted to climate change, socially impactful businesses, and the preservation of indigenous cultural values.

To date, the competition has expanded to all localities across the country, recording a steady annual growth of 15–20% in the number of participating projects.

A new feature of the 11th Green Start-up Project Competition is the expansion of eligible participants to include youth groups, students, cooperatives, and micro and small enterprises from all regions.

The prize structure is attractive, with a total value of nearly 1 billion VND, including cash awards and support packages covering media promotion, training, market access, workshops, and more.

Vu Kim Anh, Deputy Director of BSA and Head of the Organising Committee, stated that what started as a start-up playground in the agricultural sector has now become a platform that connects and promotes sustainable models that are environmentally and socially responsible.

What drives the organisers to persist in maintaining and renewing the competition is the spirit of innovation, perseverance, and resilience shown by young entrepreneurs.

This is especially evident in rural, mountainous, and remote areas, where start-ups are not only about economic ventures but also about preserving culture, protecting natural resources, and awakening local potential.

“That is precisely how we build a deep-rooted start-up ecosystem, grounded in real-life practice and aimed at sustainability,” Ms. Vu Kim Anh emphasised.

The competition is divided into two categories: Category A is for new start-up projects with prototypes or products already on the market for less than one year. Category B is for organisations and businesses that have been operating for over one year, with commercialised products or services, but no longer than five years in operation.

The Organising Committee will accept project applications until July 31, 2025.
