Speaking at the Forum, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Duoc emphasised that green transformation is no longer an option, but has become an inevitable trend of the times.

Green transformation is not simply about protecting the environment. Green transformation is a strategy to ensure economic security, ensure investment attraction, attract export orders, a premise that plays a key role in improving competitiveness and maintaining Ho Chi Minh City’s position as an economic locomotive, he noted.

To make green transformation effective, Duoc emphasised three issues. First, regarding infrastructure, it is necessary to shift from the mindset of “construction” to “creating a smart and sustainable ecosystem”.

Second, regarding circular thinking: it is necessary to shift from the mindset of “processing” to “regenerating value”.

Third, regarding industrial development: it is necessary to shift from “attracting investment” to “attracting high-quality investment capital and source technology”.
