Ha Noi takes care of workers during Tet

“Tet Sum vay” (Tet Reunion) Programme, which was held by the Ha Noi Labour Federation on February 8, is not only about caring for the material and spiritual wellbeing of trade union members and workers, but also an occasion for the Trade Union to convey its trust and sense of responsibility, helping workers more deeply feel the care and attention of the Party, the State, the city and society as a whole.

The event was attended by Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politburo Member and Secretary of the Ha Noi Municipal Party Committee.

In his opening remarks, Chairman of the Ha Noi Labour Federation Nguyen Van Thang said that, alongside protecting the lawful and legitimate rights and interests of workers, caring for and supporting trade union members in difficult circumstances has always been a top priority for trade union organisations at all levels.

This is not only a responsibility but also a reflection of care and close companionship, helping workers feel secure and motivated to remain committed and devote themselves wholeheartedly to fulfilling their assigned tasks.

Over the past year alone, thousands of trade union members and workers across the capital city have been visited and supported, with total resources amounting to hundreds of billions of Vietnamese dong.

With the motto “Every trade union member and worker has Tet and enjoys Tet”, leaving no one behind, the “Tet Sum Vay” programme has become a meaningful annual activity of the traade union whenever Tet and spring arrive.

Speaking at the programme, Nguyen Duy Ngoc highly appreciated the initiative and acknowledged the contributions of the capital city’s workforce to Ha Noi’s achievements in meeting its socio-economic development targets in 2025. He also praised the Ha Noi Labour Federation for its many innovative approaches in representing, caring for and protecting the lawful and legitimate rights of trade union members and workers.

Regarding tasks in the time ahead, the Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee noted that after the Lunar New Year, it is necessary to establish comprehensive data on trade union members and workers in the city to monitor support outcomes and develop solutions for those facing prolonged difficulties, thereby accompanying workers in overcoming challenges. He also called on trade unions to continue mobilising workers to share difficulties with enterprises, actively participate in labour emulation movements, promote initiatives and improve labour productivity.

For the Lunar New Year, the capital city’s trade union system is expected to present 83,000 Tet gift packages to trade union members and workers in difficult circumstances, and provide 5,500 bus tickets for workers, including organised journeys home for 1,200 workers to celebrate Tet with their families. In particular, trade unions will directly visit and encourage workers who continue working throughout the Tet holiday, demonstrating timely and practical care.

Taking place over February 7 and 8, the programme served as a key highlight in the series of Tet care activities, featuring more than 70 essential goods stalls offering deep discounts, 3,600 shopping vouchers and numerous “zero-dong” gift packages.
