Hai Phong Cat Bi Airport to have second passenger terminal

Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has approved plans to build a second passenger terminal for Cat Bi International Airport, which serves the northern port city of Hai Phong.

The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) will be the investor in the project, which aims to raise the airport’s capacity and quality to meet development requirements in the future.

Once the second terminal is completed, the first terminal will be solely dedicated to international flights while the second, with a capacity of 5 million passengers per year, will serve domestic flights.

The total cost for the new terminal is estimated at 2.4 trillion VND (102.7 million USD) and construction is scheduled for completion after 18 months.

The airport currently has a maximum capacity of 4 million passengers per year.
