Hanoi boxers take men’s crown at national event

Nhan Dan Online – Hanoi took top honours in the men’s category at the 2013 National Men’s and Women’s Boxing Championships, which concluded in northern Hai Phong port city on Monday, amassing a total of three gold, two silver and one bronze medals.

The Army team came in second with two gold, one silver and three bronze medals while Can Tho secured third place overall earning one medal of each colour.

The People’s Public Security team emerged victorious on the women’s side bringing home three gold and two silver medals, trailed by the Army team (2, 2, 3) and Quang Ninh (1, 1, 4) in second and third, respectively.

The annual tournament, which transpired from August 20-26, attracted more than 210 boxers representing 27 teams from across the country, competing for medals in 23 different weight classes for both men and women.
