Data shows that Hanoi’s consumer prices in July were up 2.27% compared to the end of 2011 and up 4.64% from a year ago. Last month, Hanoi’s CPI also fell by 0.17%.
The drop in Hanoi’s inflation has been attributed to falling fuel prices and weak consumption.
According to the statistics office, food and restaurant services fell by 0.21%, housing and utilities were down by 1.2% and transport costs dropped by 2.9%.
In the central city of Da Nang, consumer prices in July also fell 0.21% against the previous month, leaving the July CPI at 6.1% compared to the previous year.
