The annual event, which concluded yesterday, featured the participation of nearly 170 athletes from 14 teams across the country, in competition for medals in nine disciplines for both men and women.
Second prize went to Dong Thap with two golds, two silvers and one bronze, while Soc Trang finished in third place after all racking up two gold and three bronze medals.
The eight-day tournament aimed to promote the development of the sport among localities nationwide, while offering a good opportunity for outstanding athletes to vie for slots in the national petanque team.
