Nearly 10,000km from the Fatherland, amid an international mission in Bentiu, South Sudan, where security instability, conflict, and humanitarian crises remain potential risks, Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 7 continues to strictly maintain Party and political work, with a focus on building a clean and strong Party organisation.
In particular, the recruitment, fostering, and admission of new Party members is identified as an important task, contributing to strengthening the unit’s political strength and laying the foundation for it to fulfil its UN peacekeeping mission.
A special milestone in military careers
In the final months of the unit’s tenure with the UN peacekeeping mission in Bentiu, professional military personnel Major Truong Mai Hoa and Captain Dang Thi Thanh Phuong were honoured to join the ranks of the Party. A solemn Party admission ceremony was held by the Party Cell of the Department of Medical Examination of Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 7 for the two female military personnel on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945–August 19, 2026).
Before joining Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 7, professional military Major Truong Mai Hoa worked at the 108 Military Central Hospital, while professional military Captain Dang Thi Thanh Phuong worked at Military Hospital 17 under Military Region 5. Working together at the Department of Medical Examination of Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 7, which regularly receives, guides, examines, provides emergency care, and delivers primary healthcare to UN officials and staff from many countries, the two military personnel have undergone a process of training and personal growth through their international mission.
After receiving the admission decisions, the two stood before the Party flag, the national flag, and a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh and recited the oath of members of the Communist Party of Viet Nam. The two new Party members vowed to continue constantly studying, training, and striving; uphold the qualities and mettle of revolutionary military personnel; promote their sense of responsibility, pioneering, and exemplary spirit; and fulfil all assigned tasks.
Professional military Major Truong Mai Hoa shared with emotion: “Being admitted to the Communist Party of Viet Nam is a very special milestone in our military careers and our journey of striving and dedication. We deeply understand that today’s admission ceremony is not the destination, but the beginning of a new journey. From this moment on, the honour and pride will always go hand in hand with greater responsibility towards the organisation, the unit, our comrades and colleagues, and the mission entrusted to us by the Fatherland.”
Speaking while assigning tasks, Major Nguyen Duc Trong, Secretary of the Party Cell and Head of the Department of Medical Examination of Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 7, congratulated the two comrades on their process of striving, training, and self-improvement in performing their professional and military duties and participating in the unit’s common activities. Major Trong stressed that the honour of joining the ranks of the Party always comes with greater responsibility towards the organisation, the unit, and the collective.
The Party Cell requested that the two probationary Party members continue to strengthen their political mettle, moral qualities, and sense of organisational discipline; strictly perform their professional duties, maintain internal solidarity, and formulate specific plans for further improvement.
During their remaining time in Bentiu, they are required to fulfil their duties, conduct the handover process properly, and, upon returning home, proactively report to the Party committee and transfer their Party membership in accordance with regulations.
Taking practical experience as the measure
The admission of the two new Party members is a concrete result of the recruitment, fostering, and development of Party members that the Party Committee of Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 7 has prioritised since before the unit’s departure and throughout its mission in the area.
According to Lieutenant Colonel and Doctor Tran Duc Tai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 7, in a multinational and multicultural environment under UN command, the requirement is not only to have professional expertise but, first and foremost, to maintain firm political mettle and build a Party organisation capable of leading the unit to fulfil its mission in all circumstances.
The Party Committee of Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 7 strictly maintains the principle of democratic centralism and Party meeting routines, while strengthening inspection and supervision and ensuring that Party discipline is not relaxed despite being far from the Fatherland. In particular, the Party Committee does not recruit Party members merely as a movement or to meet mechanical targets, but uses quality and practical performance as the measure of political qualities and commitment.
Major and Doctor Tran Duc Tai said that the fostering process is precisely the “test of gold”. Outstanding individuals are assessed not only through their records but, more importantly, through their mettle in practice. In a challenging environment where security and conflict remain potentially complex, each outstanding individual must truly take the lead in professional work and uphold exemplary standards in external relations.
At the same time, the Party membership development process is carried out strictly yet flexibly. Each outstanding individual is regularly mentored, monitored, and supported by an official Party member, comprehensively in both professional work and activities within the unit. The combination of theoretical training before departure and practical challenges on the frontline creates a Party membership development process that is both principled and closely aligned with the international mission.
Experience in Bentiu shows that during periods of complex security conditions and heightened professional pressure, the internal strength of a strong Party organisation is an important source of support. The development of new Party members contributes to strengthening the political core within each team and working shift, improving the quality of leadership and command, and maintaining discipline, solidarity, and internal confidence.
From the frontline in Bentiu, the recruitment, fostering, and development of new Party members are contributing to building a strong Party organisation through concrete actions and substantive training. This also provides the foundation for Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 7 to remain steadfast amid all developments, fulfil its peacekeeping mission, and promote the image and qualities of “Uncle Ho’s Soldiers” on the international stage.
