Igniting working spirit on first days of spring

In the early days of spring, the entire province of Quảng Ninh is bustling with passionate working atmosphere, driven by a strong determination to welcome Party Congresses at all levels. From urban areas and coal mines to rural regions, from mountainous to coastal areas, workers and farmers have promptly begun production and business activities with optimism for a year of favourable weather and new achievements.

Creating momentum for the new coal season

Units of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) are rolling efforts to successfully complete the goals of producing 36.85 million tons of coal, selling 50 million tons, and generating 172.8 trillion VND (6.78 billion USD) in revenue in 2025.

After the Lunar New Year holiday, 90% of employees Cao Son Coal Joint Stock Company have returned to work. In 2024, the company successfully completed its production and business targets, with the average monthly worker income reaching nearly 17 million VND.

The company’s director Pham Quoc Viet said that the company is intensifying its effort to achieve the highest output in the first six months of the year.

The company strictly adheres to operational discipline, technical standards, and works closely with local authorities and ministries to expedite legal procedures for mining, dumping, land planning, and site clearance, while strengthening cost management and ensuring labour safety and environmental protection.

In 2024, Mao Khe Coal Company completed its production and business plan of producing over 2.4 million tons of coal, selling more than 2.2 million tons, and gaining revenue of over 3 trillion VND. The average salary of workers reached 19.8 million VND per month.

The positive results in 2024 have set the stage for the company to aim for more ambitious targets in 2025: producing 2.5 million tons (the highest in five years), selling over 2.4 million tons, and achieving revenue of over 3.6 trillion VND.

According to Nguyen Van Hai, Company Director of Mao Khe Coal, to realise these goals, the company has launched numerous emulation movements from the early days of the new year.

Production teams are requested to ensure a safe working environment in production lines and enhance mechanisation, informatisation, and digitalisation in production and management to improve work efficiency and improve workers' livelihoods and income.

As a major coal processing and consumption unit of Vinacomin, Cua Ong Coal Selection Company in coordination with Cam Pha Port and Logistics Company loaded 23,000 tons of coal for the Vinh Tan 1 Thermal Power Plant on the first working day of the new year 2025.

Cua Ong Coal Selection Company’s Deputy Director Nguyen Quang Hung said that the to achieve the 2025 goals, the company proactively develops flexible production plans, strengthens management, and ensures cost efficiency to maintain production and business effectiveness throughout the year.

  • During the Lunar New Year, many enterprises in industrial zones across Quang Ninh Province maintained production to ensure timely delivery of orders for the beginning of the year.

    Dinh Thanh Tu from Jinko Solar Industrial Company in Song Khoai Industrial Park, Quang Yen Township, shared that to guarantee export orders in the first quarter of 2025, over 2,400 officials and employees worked through the Lunar New Year holiday. By the sixth day of the new lunar year, all workers had returned to work and joined production.

    Despite being heavily hit by historical storm Yagi, the aquaculture areas in the province have been restored thanks to the diligent efforts of fishermen. In 2025, Quang Ninh Province’s aquaculture and fisheries sector aims to achieve a total output of 175,000 tonnes, an increase of 5.4% against 2024.

    Along with fishing vessels began heading to the sea, many aquaculture households in the province have entered new cultivation cycles for the year.

    Ngo Dinh Vinh from Tan An Ward, Quang Yên Township, said that on the sixth day of the new year, his family's fishing boat began its first voyage with hope for lucky and bountiful catches in the new year.

    With the highest spirit and determination, various sectors and localities in Quang Ninh Province are joining hands to successfully complete the set targets and tasks for 2025.

    Taking advantage of favourable weather, farmers in Quang Yen Township have been busy in the fields, preparing the soil and tending crops to ensure timely planting.

    The total area for planting winter-spring vegetables in Quang Yen reached 1,540 hectares, with an estimated yield of 24,000 tonnes of various vegetables. The township maintains over 700 hectares of vegetable crops, supplying more than 50 tonnes per day to the market.

    Bui Thi Hien from Tien An Commune, who has around 1,500 sq.m growing cabbage and broccoli, said that after Lunar New Year, she harvested the remaining winter crops and began planting garlic and onion.

    “Since the land is continuously used for production, my family pays great attention to maintaining soil nutrients and plant varieties, and intercropping to meet consumer demand,” she stated.

    As a new spring arrives, with the highest spirit and determination, various sectors and localities in Quang Ninh Province are joining hands to successfully complete the set targets and tasks for 2025.
