In Pictures: PM attends special art programme celebrating August Revolution
A special art programme titled “Ha Noi – From the historic autumn of 1945” was held at the August Revolution Square on August 15 in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

The programme was among prominent events hosted by the capital city to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
The event was attended by Politburo members: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of its Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation; Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Ha Noi municipal Party Committee; and Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee; among others.

Delegates at the event Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Ha Noi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh affirmed that the art programme not only honoured the glorious history, patriotism, and revolutionary spirit, but also sent a strong message about the will of self-reliance, the desire for development, and the determination to continue the heroic tradition.

The programme’s message aimed to evoke pride, love for the homeland and the country, and gratitude to previous generations, and at the same time, inspire the younger generation to continue and promote the heroic tradition of the nation.
In the wake of Typhoon Bualoi, the 10th to hit the East Sea/South China Sea this year, and accompanying tornadoes that have caused heavy human and material losses across several northern and north-central localities, including Ninh Binh province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on September 30 evening visited the province’s coastal communes – the hardest-hit areas – to inspect and direct recovery efforts.
