Vietnamese shares extended their decline on July 10 as broad-based selling weighed on banking, securities, energy and retail stocks. The VN-Index fell 12.36 points (0.67%) to close at 1,828.34.
Global gold prices surged on September 19 to 4,377 USD per ounce, driven by strong bargain-hunting and rising demand for the precious metal as a safe-haven asset. Domestically, prices for SJC gold bars and gold rings remained unchanged, quoted at 147.6 million VND/tael and 147.1 million VND/tael, respectively.
