Viet Nam’s stock market recovered in the August 20 trading session, with the VN-Index gaining 7.55 points to 1,734.24 points, supported by banking, property and retail stocks.
Global gold prices continued to decline on September 9, trading at 4,394.7 USD per ounce amid a sharp rise in crude oil prices, high treasury yields and market concerns over the possibility of interest rate hikes. Domestically, gold prices fell by more than 1 million VND, with SJC gold bars quoted at 143.6-146.6 million VND per tael for buying and selling, respectively.
