Japan ranks third in foreign investment in Dong Nai

Japan now ranks third among countries and territories investing in Dong Nai with 253 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects worth total US$3.9 billion, according to Chairman of Dong Nai provincial People's Committee Dinh Quoc Thai.

Japanese enterprises often invest in industries with high content of technology and friendly to the environment, contributing to promoting the development of Dong Nai province, Thai said.

He noted that the province will continue to create favourable conditions for Japanese enterprises to expand their scale while calling for new investments.

Dong Nai encourages enterprises from Japan to invest in the areas of high technology industries, support industries, high technology agriculture and tourism, Thai added.

President of the Japanese Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City (JBAH) Kadowaki Keiichi said that Japanese enterprises are very interested in the investment environment in Dong Nai and appreciate the local authorities for regular meetings and dialogues with enterprises.

The JBAH will continue to promote communication on Dong Nai to attract more Japanese investors to the province, the JBAH President said.

Dong Nai has so far attracted 1,679 FDI projects with a total investment capital of US$30.6 billion, including 1,262 valid projects with a total investment of US$25.7 billion.

FDI investors are from 45 countries and territories. The Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China) and Japan are on top of the list.
