The delegation of Vientiane visited the Winmart Smart City supermarket (Nam Tu Liem District) and Savico Megamall (Long Bien District). Besides learning about the purchasing process and how to gather and pack goods and agricultural products before putting them into supermarkets and trade centres, the delegation also expressed their wish that Hanoi's supermarkets would buy goods and agricultural products from Vientiane.
According to Acting Director of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Tran Thi Phuong Lan, Hanoi is connecting with 63 provinces and cities across the country and asked them to provide a list of suppliers, products, output, and harvest time to the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade.
After that, the Department of Industry and Trade will synthesise and send them to the distribution system so that the products can be connected and consumed, she noted, adding that this is also a solution to help businesses save time and costs.
Vice Mayor of Vientiane Phouvong Vongkhamsao said he hopes the two sides will continue to tighten the relationship and expand the scale of exchange and trade cooperation; and that Lao agricultural products may enter the supermarket and trade centre system in Hanoi, while at the same time, businesses from Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular will invest in and expand the development of the supermarket model in Vientiane.
