Literary exhibition features over 200 Nguyen Dynasty royal documents

On the occasion of Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival and Vietnam Poetry Day, the National Archives Centre No.1 in Hanoi has launched an online exhibition featuring more than 200 unique royal literary documents from Nguyen Dynasty.

The exhibition was launched at the website https://archives.org.vn/vanchuongmuonmau/ and consists of three parts. The first part introduces an overview of great literary authors in the 19th and 20th centuries such as Nguyen Cong Tru, Cao Ba Quat, Nguyen Khuyen, Nguyen Truong To, Phan Boi Chau, Phan Chau Trinh and Nguyen Quang Bich.

Meanwhile, the second part refers the cases related to examination and non-examination literature which were recorded in the royal documents from Nguyen Dynasty.

The book “Dai Nam thuc luc” (Chronicle of Dai Nam – an old name of Vietnam) records Dr. Nguyen Khuyen who passed first in the examination three times.

Finally, the third part introduces the special position of literature in the royal court of the Nguyen Dynasty.

Among the exhibitions, many documents are published for the first time.
