Malaysian top legislator pays tribute to President Ho Chi Minh

The event was also attended by Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam – ASEAN Parliamentary Friendship Group Tran Thi Hong An and Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam Dato’ Tan Yang Thai.

They then visited the special national relic Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) where they explored the history and development of the first university in Vietnam that has preserved and honoured the country’s learning tradition.

Built in 1070 under the Ly Dynasty, the Temple of Literature has been a symbol of knowledge and education system of Vietnam. Boasting ancient architecture and unique humanistic values, the relic site has contributed to enriching the nation’s cultural treasure and has become an attractive cultural destination pulling in throngs of domestic and foreign visitors.

The Malaysian top legislator’s official visit to Vietnam on October 22-25 has an important role to play in consolidating and promoting the parliamentary relations between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Malaysian parliament, contributing to enhancing the strategic partnership between the two countries.
