In his opening remarks, Man said that law-making is the main focus of this meeting.
The committee is scheduled to give feedback on contents to be presented to the NA at its 8th session, and consider some matters within its authority.
It will review and offer opinions on 11 draft laws and one ordinance, including the draft law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Vietnam People's Army Officers and the draft law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance, Man said.
The top legislator requested permanent members of the NA’s Law Committee to urgently and thoroughly examine proposals for drafting laws and resolutions, and report to the NA Standing Committee for consideration and addition to the agenda of the 37th session in the spirit of ensuring quality and meeting conditions for approval.
Regarding the supervision work, the NA Standing Committee will give opinions to reports on judicial work, annual audits, and several other important reports, including the NA’s supervision on the implementation of policies and laws on real estate market management and social housing development from 2015 to 2023, and the NA Standing Committee's supervision on the implementation of policies and laws on ensuring traffic safety and order from 2009 to 2023.
It will summarise the results of the 8th extraordinary session and discuss the preparations for the 15th NA’s 8th session. It will also consider two draft joint resolutions detailing the organisation of voter meetings of NA deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels, and approve the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of ambassadors and a report on the people's aspirations in 2024.
Man demanded agencies to keep their reports brief and adhere to the allowed time limits, focusing discussion on important issues, areas of disagreement, and those requiring feedback.
