To avoid having to take a long detour
The project to build a traffic route to the centre of Nhon Mai and Mai Son communes is invested by the Department of Construction of Nghe An province.
For a long time, to go from the center of Tuong Duong district to these communes, people still have to go around Ky Son district, so people choose to travel by boat on the reservoir of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant. Therefore, this is a project that has an impact on socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security; contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction in Tuong Duong district.
The route is more than 12.5km long, the roadbed is 6m wide and 3 bridges cross the river, with a total investment of 428.8 billion VND. The project area is mountainous and rugged, so the transportation of machinery, equipment, supplies and materials is very difficult, mainly by waterway.
The project has 2 construction packages. According to the plan, package XL01 will be completed before December 31, 2025 and package XL02 will be completed before December 31, 2025. The total value of construction and installation of the entire project up to now is 116.45/337.9 billion VND, reaching 34.46%.
Currently, the project investor is striving to complete the Cha Lai 1 and Cha Lai 2 bridges before June 15, 2025, while the Suoi Hoc bridge span structure will be completed before November 30, 2025; the bridge deck construction and bridge completion will be completed before December 30, 2025.
During the inspection of the entire route a few days ago, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Hoang Phu Hien highly appreciated the efforts of the construction units in carrying out the construction of the project in difficult conditions. Comrade Hoang Phu Hien requested the project investor to urge the contractors to concentrate human and material resources, taking advantage of favourable weather to carry out the construction of the project. The contractors must develop a detailed implementation plan for each specific item, striving to complete the project as committed.
Promoting the development of the Dan Lai ethnic group’s life
In addition to the project to build a road to the center of Nhon Mai and Mai communes, the project to upgrade the road from the center of Mon Son commune to Bung village, Mon Son commune, Con Cuong District is also being actively implemented.
The project was approved by the People’s Committee of Nghe An province in Decision No. 1324/QD-UBND dated May 15, 2023, with a designed route length of 18.743km, a total investment of more than 62 billion VND. The scale of the rural road is grade B in mountainous areas, the roadbed is 4m wide, the concrete road surface is 3m wide.
Currently, the contractor is constructing the section from Km12+600 to Km18+743.51 with a length of more than 6.1km. To date, this section has completed about 98% of the volume.
The project to upgrade the road from the center of Mon Son commune to Bung village, Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district is being actively implemented.
The project has been allocated 100% of the planned capital from the National Target Programme for Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas. To date, the project has disbursed nearly 30 billion VND, reaching 47.74%.
The remaining section from Km0+00 to Km12+600 has not been implemented because the People's Committee of Con Cuong district has requested the project adjustment policy, because there are many points that need to lower the height, affecting forest land.
Responding to the proposal of the People’s Committee of Con Cuong district, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Nghe An province Phung Thanh Vinh said: The project to upgrade the road from the center of Mon Son commune to Bung village aims to ensure the safety of people, teachers, students... to travel smoothly, especially for rescue work during the rainy and stormy season.
In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the development of mountainous transport infrastructure, accelerate the socio-economic development of Con Cuong district and ensure security and defense in the area.
Therefore, the proposal to adjust the project is not appropriate, it is necessary to keep the project intact and immediately implement the excavation and embankment to lower the height in necessary sections, ensure construction progress, and put the project into use as soon as planned.
Bung and Co Phat villages (Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district) are located in the core zone of Pu Mat National Park, where the Dan Lai ethnic group lives, with more than 1,000 people.
These two villages are next to each other, less than 20km from the center of Mon Son commune, but due to difficult roads, it takes more than an hour for a high-chassis car to reach the village.
Khe Bung and Co Phat villages have 243 households, but up to 235 households are poor, accounting for 96.7%.
In the past, due to geographical isolation, travel was mainly by walking along trails and sampans along streams, historical conditions and backward customs, the Dan Lai ethnic group’s life relied on the forest, mainly hunting, gathering and clearing forests for farming, so they were hungry all year round.
