The meeting took place as Viet Nam and India are commemorating the 10th anniversary of the establishment of their comprehensive strategic partnership (2016-2026) and the 54th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1972-2026).

At the reception, Minh provided an overview of Nhan Dan Newspaper to the Indian diplomat, noting that with its 75-year tradition, the newspaper has affirmed its leading position in the country’s press system.

Since 2021, the newspaper has continuously renewed both its content and format through the implementation of its digital transformation strategy, aiming to develop into a key multimedia news organisation in Viet Nam.

Noting that India’s print press continues to maintain strong growth despite the challenges of the digital era, Minh expressed his hope that Nhan Dan could have the opportunity to learn from major Indian media organisations in the areas of digital transformation and the application of modern journalism technologies.

For his part, Ambassador Tshering W. Sherpa emphasised the important role of Nhan Dan Newspaper, while expressing his wish to continue close coordination with the newspaper in disseminating information about cooperation between the two countries.

During the working session, Nhan Dan Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh and Ambassador Tshering W. Sherpa exchanged views and discussed several specific areas of cooperation, including organising training courses for Vietnamese journalists in India on professional skills, foreign languages, and particularly media technology.

The two sides also discussed sharing experiences in press development in the digital era, and establishing special pages on bilateral relations across digital platforms and the print edition to enhance mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.

Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh and Ambassador Tshering W. Sherpa affirmed that both sides will continue to promote and realise these cooperative initiatives through concrete actions, thereby contributing to elevating Viet Nam-India relations to a new height.
