Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championships 2024 opens in Khanh Hoa

The 42nd Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championships PetroVietnam Cup (PVCFC 2024) kicked off at the Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Stadium on June 3.

The opening ceremony was attended by Le Quoc Minh — member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association — along with leaders of Khanh Hoa Province and the General Department of Sports and Physical Training.

In his opening remarks, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh, who is also head of the tournament’s steering committee, stressed that the annual Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championships have received much appreciation from table tennis players and lovers.

Over its 41 previous editions, the event has contributed to the discovery of promising talents for national teams who have brought glory for Vietnam at international and regional competitions.

He noted that the 42nd Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championships has witnessed the largest number of participating athletes and delegations so far, with nearly 200 athletes from 17 teams across the country.

He extended his best wishes to the participating athletes, wishing them the best success with fair play, competitive spirit, and honest sportsmanship.

For his part, Dinh Van Thieu, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, expressed his pleasure that the province has the honour to host the tournament as it can help to attract more visitors to the locality, particularly table tennis fans, thus contributing to boosting the provincial tourism development.
