Nhan Dan Newspaper presents Tet issue to remote soldiers

More than 30,000 copies of the Lunar New Year (Tet) issue of Nhan Dan Newspaper were presented to soldiers stationed in border areas and remote islands during a ceremony held in Hanoi on December 30.

The event was jointly held by the newspaper and various other agencies, with the aim to provide emotional support to the soldiers and officers who are safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty.

The handout of Tet newspapers to servicemen is a good example of the civil-military relationship.

Speaking at a ceremony, Editor in Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Communications and Education Commission cum Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Le Quoc Minh stated that the activity has become a tradition of Nhan Dan Newspaper whenever Lunar New Year approaches.

He added that the Tet issue of Nhan Dan Newspaper is a gift from its journalists to soldiers in remote areas.

On behalf of the recipients, Colonel Van Ngoc Que of the Border Guard Command expressed his sincere thanks to the editorial board and staff of Nhan Dan Newspaper.

He emphasised that each newspaper not only provides current information to soldiers but also reflects their combat readiness along with the lives of people throughout the country.
