Since July, the monthly number of Indian tourists to Vietnam has exceeded the figures for 2019.

In the first 10 months of 2022, Vietnam welcomed 82,066 visitors from India, witnessing an average growth rate of 51% per month.

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Vietnam's tourism industry has strengthened the implementation of promotional activities to the Indian market. In addition, many direct flights between major cities of the two countries have been connected and expanded, including routes operated by Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air.

The data from Google Destination Insights showed that the international search volume for tourist accommodation establishments in Vietnam continued to increase in October, about 20% higher than in September and 11 times higher than in March 2022.

Particularly, India was among the top ten countries with the highest search volume for Vietnamese tourism, along with the US, Australia, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Japan, the UK, Malaysia, Thailand and Germany.

The most sought-after Vietnamese destinations by Indian tourists are Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc, Da Nang and Quy Nhon.

In contrast, India is also among the countries most sought after by Vietnamese tourists, along with Thailand, Cambodia, Australia, the US, Indonesia, France, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The VNAT said that with the enhancement of flights connecting major cities between the two countries, India will be a potential market for Vietnam in the near future.
