Khanh Hoa promotes tourism to Russian friends

A conference was held in Moscow of Russia on March 11 to promote the tourism potential of Khanh Hoa Province, provide a platform for Russian travel companies to directly exchange information, understand the current development of the province's tourism industry.

The conference was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Khac Toan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Hoa Nam, representatives of the Moscow’s Government, departments and agencies of Khanh Hoa Province, as well as numerous businesses from both Russia and Khanh Hoa.

In his speech, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi highlighted the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Russia, emphasising the important role of tourism in strengthening the bond between the two nations. He noted that many Russians are familiar with Vietnamese cuisine through restaurants in major Russian cities, and some have even opened Vietnamese restaurants after traveling to Vietnam.

Ambassador Khoi emphasised that Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa holds a special place in the hearts of Russian tourists. The majority of Russian visitors to Vietnam choose Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa as their destination thanks to its stunning beaches and the warm hospitality of the local people.

At many tourism establishments in Nha Trang, the Russian language is widely used, and Russian culture is deeply intertwined with the local tourism experience.

The Ambassador emphasised that with strong support from both governments, various favourable policies, such as visa exemptions for Russian citizens, have been implemented to boost tourism. Additionally, the resumption of direct flights from Moscow to Nha Trang in early March and to Hanoi in early May further facilitates travel between the two countries, creating ideal conditions for tourism development.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Hoa Nam highlighted the province’s efforts to introduce Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa to Russian businesses and partners. The event provided key information about Khanh Hoa’s tourism potential, strengths, development policies, destinations, and services. It also facilitated direct exchanges between Khanh Hoa-based enterprises and Russian counterparts, paving the way for expanded business cooperation.

As a major tourism hub in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, Khanh Hoa boasts exceptional island and marine resources, an extensive coastline, breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural and historical heritage, unique festivals, friendly people, and a favourable climate—making it a prime destination for international travelers.

Khanh Hoa, with its stunning coastline, unique cultural heritage, and vibrant festivals, has long been a favourite destination for Russian tourists. The province continues to enhance its tourism appeal by offering high-quality services and fostering closer cooperation with Russian travel agencies.

Khanh Hoa aims to expand its international tourism market In 2025 by attracting visitors from new markets while revitalising traditional ones. To achieve this goal, the province is intensifying its tourism promotion efforts worldwide. The tourism promotion conference in Russia is one of the key events in this strategy.

It is estimated that in 2019, approximately 462,972 Russian tourists visited Khanh Hoa province, making Russia the second-largest international tourist market for the province at that time. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of Russian tourists traveling to Khanh Hoa declined sharply in the following years. By 2024, the number of Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa had shown a strong recovery, reaching an estimated 105,513 visitors, an increase of 206% compared to the same period of the previous year.

At the conference, the organisers presented a promotional clip showcasing Khanh Hoa tourism. Many Russian businesses attending the event expressed interest in tourism service facilities, the timeline for resuming direct flights, and payment methods for Russian tourists.

On the occasion, booths displaying information and promotional materials about the products and services from Vietnamese businesses were arranged, engaging in discussions with Russian tourism companies.
