Van Long lagoon, with an area of 3,500 hectares, is an attractive destination in Ninh Binh province. There are around 500-600 bamboo boats rowed by the locals to serve visitors.

In addition to rowing boats to carry passengers along the lagoon, they catch fish and pick lotus flowers and water lily tubers.
