Olympiad winners awarded Labour Order

In 2024, Vietnam had eight delegations competing in international and regional Olympiads, with a total of 38 students participating, with the achievements of 12 gold medals, 15 silver medals, 10 bronze medals, and one certificate of merit. Compared to 2023, the number of gold medals increased by four and silver medals increased by three, affirming the strong rise in the quality of education.

On December 28, at the Presidential Palace, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with and awarded the Labour Order to students who won international Olympiads and scientific and technological competitions in 2024.

Reporting at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi said that, under the leadership of the Party, the attention of the Government, and the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training, Vietnamese education has obtained many important achievements in 2024.

The success at the 2024 international and regional Olympiads is the clearest evidence, affirming Vietnam’s position in the region and the world. It can be said that the excellent achievements in 2024 are proof of the remarkable progress in key education, as well as in general education broadly.

Commending and congratulating the outstanding achievements of the education and training sector, teachers and students in 2024, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasised that studiousness is a very fine tradition of the nation, nurtured from generation to generation, thereby contributing to the formation of a thousand-year-old civilised Vietnam.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan suggested that the education and training sector continue to have specific, practical plans, with a roadmap and solutions to implement the general policies of the Party and State. At the same time, the whole sector should continue to carry out the cause of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training, close to reality, suitable to the needs of national development and keeping up with the trend of the times.

On the occasion, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan awarded the Labour Order to 20 students, while Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son awarded the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit to six students.
