The regulations stipulate the powers and responsibilities of the National Committee, its Chairperson, Vice-Chairpersons, members, heads of the subcommittees of the National Committee for APEC 2027 (the National Committee), and the APEC 2027 National Secretariat (the Secretariat). They also set out the working procedures, coordination mechanisms and information-sharing arrangements of the National Committee established under Decision No. 938/QD-TTg dated May 25, 2026, of the Prime Minister.
Under the regulations, the National Committee will convene regular meetings once every quarter. When necessary, the Chairperson of the National Committee may call extraordinary meetings, with participants summoned according to the nature and requirements of the issues under consideration. In 2027, particularly during preparations for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, the National Committee may meet more frequently.
Conclusions reached by the Chairperson at National Committee meetings will be compiled by the APEC 2027 Secretariat and the Government Office and circulated in writing to committee members, subcommittees, relevant ministries, agencies, and local authorities for coordination and implementation.
The subcommittees and the APEC 2027 Secretariat will operate on a part-time basis and may utilise the organisational apparatus and resources under their management to support the activities of the subcommittees and the Secretariat.
The subcommittees and the APEC 2027 Secretariat are tasked with regularly reporting to the leadership and designated members of the National Committee on progress in preparations for APEC-related activities in Viet Nam in 2027.
Reports submitted to the leadership of the National Committee must also be copied to the APEC 2027 Secretariat for consolidation and coordination purposes.
Committee members and subcommittees are responsible for maintaining close communication and coordination with one another and with the APEC 2027 Secretariat in preparing for and organising activities during APEC Year 2027.
