On the afternoon of January 30, the second day of Tet, the National Traffic Safety Committee issued a quick report on the traffic safety and order situation nationwide.
Accordingly, there were 50 traffic accidents nationwide, resulting in the deaths of 25 people and injuring 50 people. Compared to the same period in 2024, there were 41 fewer cases, 9 fewer deaths, and 31 fewer injuries. All occurred on the road.
The police also inspected, detected, and handled 3,308 violations; detained 36 cars, 1,592 motorbikes, and 25 other vehicles; revoked 191 driving licenses of all types, and deducted points from 427 driving licenses. Of these, there were 1,405 cases handled for alcohol concentration violations; 567 speed violations; 1 case of overloading; 2 cases of exceeding the size limit; 12 cases of exceeding the prescribed number of people; and 6 cases of drug violations.
In big cities such as Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City, the streets were clear, people were excited to go to wish a happy new year and enjoy spring. At famous spring destinations such as Tran Quoc Pagoda, Ngoc Son Temple, Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, Quang Minh Pagoda, Nguyen Hue Flower Street, etc., the density of vehicles increased but they moved in an orderly and safe manner, without causing traffic jams.
