Central Highlandes promote solidarity tradition in every village

For generations, villages have been the cornerstone of community cohesion, providing shelter and protecting ethnic minority communities in the Central Highlands region. Ethnic minority groups in the Central Highlands and Dak Lak Province, in particular, have upheld solidarity and preserved their villages’ traditional values for future generations.

Cu Kuin District has eight communes. With considerable effort by the local authorities and people, the district's economy grew in 2024, with a total production value exceeding 11,400 billion VND, an increase of 9.3% year-on-year.

Agricultural production witnessed encouraging results, and the selling prices for coffee, pepper, and betel nuts rose, improving residents’ income, thereby promoting local agricultural development.

Local party committees and authorities have innovated their operations, focusing on building rural infrastructure, developing new rural areas, promoting sustainable poverty reduction, and effectively implementing policies on social welfare for ethnic people and religious practitioners.

Thanks to these efforts, all families and villages in the district have transformed their economic mindset, achieving higher productivity and quality in various crops.

This year, prices for agricultural products have remained high, allowing farmers in Dak Lak and the Central Highlands to earn substantial incomes. Last year, many local families earned several billion VND from growing durian, coffee, and pepper.

Dak Lak Province is a strategic and crucial area regarding defence, security, politics, and socio-economic development not only for the Central Highlands but also for the entire country.

Nguyen Van Dung, Secretary of the Ea Tieu Commune Party Committee, noted that in 2024, the commune achieved great strides in building a new rural areas. The commune gained approximately 8 billion VND in budget collection, exceeding the plan by 200%.

This is significant because it will provide a budget to reinvest in transportation infrastructure, education, culture, and social welfare policies.

Dak Lak Province is a strategic and crucial area regarding defence, security, politics, and socio-economic development not only for the Central Highlands but also for the entire country. The province is home to 49 ethnic groups living together for generations.

Recognising national unity as a crucial and permanent issue in the development process, Dak Lak provincial authorities have effectively implemented the Party's guidelines and the State's policies on socio-economic development and national unity, while ensuring defence and security in every village.

There are 921 village elders and influential figures among ethnic minorities in the province. These individuals are the bridge linking the Party's guidelines and the State's policies with villagers, helping build strong unity and maintaining stability in the village.

Having spent most of her life in Cu Kuin District, H Blak Nie from Kram Village, Ea Tieu Commune, is dearly nicknamed Mi Bung by her villagers.

Mi Bung revealed that to get others to listen to her, she must set an example and take the lead in following the Party and State’s policies.

She expressed her hope that the Party and State will promulgate more policies on supporting ethnic minorities to build a prosperous, happy, and peaceful life.

As a respected figure trusted by his community, Y Jien Nie from Jung B Village, Ea Ktur Commune, Cu Kuin District, has contributed significantly to fostering community unity in the village.

With a hope to promote compassion and mutual support in the community, he always tries to popularise and explain the Party's guidelines and the State's policies so that people understand and join hands to build their community.

According to him, when people understand and work together, the village becomes more prosperous, and life becomes happier, more prosperous and peaceful.

Village elders and influential figures are pillars solidifying unity within the community.

In 2024, Dak Lak Province's GRDP reached more than 145,300 billion VND, a 19.53% increase from 2023, ranking first in the Central Highlands.

With the efforts of all levels and sectors and the consensus of the people, in 2024, Dak Lak Province overcame many challenges and achieved significant successes in socio-economic development.

Additionally, encouraging outcomes were seen in building infrastructure, preserving and promoting cultural values, and improving the people's lives.

Local authorities have comprehensively grasped the situation, timely fighting against attempts to divide unity while maintaining strong defence and security.

In 2025, Dak Lak aims for economic growth of 6.8%, an average annual income per capita of 81.7 million VND, and a local budget collection of 8,700 billion VND. The province also targets reducing the poverty rate to below 3%.

The province will further strengthen national defence and security, and proactively grasp the situation, especially in key and complex security areas to prevent hostile forces' sabotage attempts.

Nguyen Thien Van, Deputy Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, emphasised that the local authorities have paid great attention to listening to people’s opinions and acting on the people's legitimate needs.

The province has also worked to streamline its political system for a stronger and more transparent apparatus from the provincial to grassroots levels, taking responsibility for the people and consolidating great national solidarity bloc.
