Painting contest on Vietnamese cultural heritages launched

The Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association has held a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City to announce a painting contest on Vietnamese heritages with the aim to preserve and promote the treasured value of national culture.

The contest is open to art lovers, especially young artists and art students at arts and culture universities and colleges nationwide, as well as Overseas Vietnamese people living abroad.

The entrants are encouraged to create freestyle paintings highlighting the value of tangible and intangible cultural heritages as well as scenic spots across Vietnam.

The paintings must measure less than 60 x 60 cm and may be presented in various materials such as oil painting, lacquer, acrylic, and graphics.

The deadline of the contest is September 2023. The organising board will select 73 outstanding paintings to exhibit at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum and other cultural places.

As many as 27 prizes worth 960 million in total will be presented to the best entries at an award ceremony scheduled to be held on the occasion of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).
