The event was attended by Politburo member Phan Dinh Trac, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of its Commission for Internal Affairs.

During the ceremony, Cao Thi Hoa An, Secretary of the Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee, reflected on the glorious history of Phu Yen’s military and citizens during their struggle against US forces. The date of April 1, 1975, was highlighted as a significant milestone, representing the complete liberation of the region after 21 years of hardship and sacrifice. This victory resulted in the loss of over 13,300 martyrs and left more than 5,300 injured.

Phan Dinh Trac presented the First-Class Labour Order to Phu Yen for its outstanding contributions to national development and defence. He praised the province’s resilience and efforts toward post-war recovery, noting that Phu Yen has achieved strong economic growth, with averages exceeding 14% and an average GRDP per capita of over 70 million VND in 2024.

The celebration included artistic performances by nearly 400 artists and a fireworks display. Special recognition was given to war veterans and the families of martyrs, underscoring the sacrifices made towards the nation's independence.

This event not only commemorated past struggles but also served as a call for continued collaboration among the government, citizens, and organisations to build an increasingly prosperous and civilised Phu Yen, contributing to the overall progress of the nation.
