Localities elect additional delegates to People's Councils for 2021-2026 term

On June 6, a number of localities successfully hosted the elections of additional delegates to the People's Councils at district and commune levels for the 2021-2026 term, amid the preventive measures against COVID-19 ensured.

Voters in 18 constituencies in 16 communes and wards in six administrative units of Nam Dinh province went to polling stations on June 6 to elect 32 additional delegates, as the areas had not elected enough delegates on the election day on May 23.

On the same day, more than 5,000 voters in the three districts of Kien Hai, U Minh Thuong and An Bien in Kien Giang Province went to the polls to elect more delegates to the People's Council at district and commune levels for the 2021-2026 term. The turnout rates were high, with 100% in Kien Hai and An Bien, while U Minh Thuong reached 98.28%. At all polling stations, voters strictly followed the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control procedures.

Yesterday morning, at the Cultural House of Village 5, Election Team No. 5 under the Election Committee of Long Tan Commune, Phu Rieng District, Binh Phuoc Province, held additional elections for the Commune People's Council for the term 2021-2026.

Also on June 6, in Thai Binh Province, Constituency No. 5 in My Loc 3 Village, Viet Hung Commune, Vu Thu District, and Constituency No. 6 in Nguyen Xa 3 Village, An Hiep Commune, Quynh Phu District, held the additional elections, with the turnout rates reaching over 97%.

Recently, in Bac Ninh, 11 election teams from nine communes in Luong Tai, Que Vo, Yen Phong and Thuan Thanh Districts also held the additional elections.

On June 6, 26 electoral units across 11 districts in Hanoi City re-elected and elected additional delegates to the People's Councils at communal level for the 2021-2026 term. The elections took place in a serious manner, with the security and order ensured amid COVID-19 and the high turnout rates.
