Vietnam sends condolences over flight QZ8501 accident

State President Truong Tan Sang and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on December 31 extended condolences to Indonesian President Joko Widodo over the accident of AirAsia flight QZ8501.

The same day, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh also offered his condolences to Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Hai Binh on Wednesday said that the Vietnamese Government and people were greatly saddened by the news of the flight QZ8501 accident.

“We would like to send condolences to the Governments, people and families of passengers aboard the flight and hope that joint efforts by related countries would help step up the search for victims still missing”, Binh added.

AirAsia flight QZ8501 went missing on December 28 when it was flying from Indonesia’s Surabaya to Singapore.
