At his meeting with the expatriates, he answered their queries involving citizen protection, consular procedures as well as rights and responsibility of Vietnamese workers in Cyprus.
The Vietnamese embassy in Italy and Cyprus and the Honourable Consul General in Limassol city George Christophides have supported the Vietnamese community in integrating into the host country’s social life.
Christophides, for his part, vowed to stand by the Vietnamese community and assist them in paperwork as well as protect their legitimate rights.
Vietnam and Cyprus set up diplomatic relations on December 1, 1975. Currently, around 12,000 Vietnamese expatriates live in Cyprus.
