Greetings on Laos’s 41st National Day

NDO/VNA—Deputy Foreign Minister Ha Kim Ngoc and a Foreign Ministry delegation visited the Lao Embassy in Hanoi on December 1 to congratulate its staff on their country’s 41st National Day (December 2).

Ngoc congratulated the Lao people on the great achievements they have made during their construction and development of their nation over the past 41 years.

He expressed pleasure at the solid results of the cooperation between the two Foreign Ministries over the years, both bilaterally and at regional and international forums.

The Deputy FM asked the embassy to continue working closely with Vietnam’s ministries and agencies to prepare for the 39th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Inter-Governmental Committee on bilateral cooperation, as well as the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations and 40 years since the signing of the Vietnam-Laos agreement on friendship and cooperation, which are all in 2017.

For his part, Lao ambassador to Vietnam Thongsavanh Phomvihane thanked Vietnam’s leaders for always paying heed to reinforcing the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos, as well as for supporting the Lao Embassy.

He affirmed that the embassy would continue making contributions to the growth of bilateral ties in all fields. The diplomat also expressed his belief that the Vietnam-Laos relationship would be evergreen and everlastingly stable.
