NDO – Vietnamese Ambassador to Monaco Nguyen Thiep (resident in France) presented his credentials to the Prince of Monaco Albert II on May 29.

At a reception for the diplomat later the same day, Prince Albert II expressed his admiration for Vietnam’s struggle for national independence, as well as its rapid and impressive development in the Doi Moi (renewal) process.

He voiced his delight at the fruitful development of the Vietnam-Monaco relations over recent years, adding that the two countries share common interests in many issues, especially oceans, environmental protection and sustainable development.

For his part, Ambassador Thiep conveyed the regards of President Tran Dai Quang and the other leaders of Vietnam to the Monaco Prince.

Vietnam is looking forward to welcoming the Prince on his first official visit to the country, scheduled for this November, Thiep said, stating that the visit will mark a new stage of development in the bilateral relations and help to promote the exchanges between the two sides’ business communities.

Prince Albert II wished the Vietnamese diplomat a successful tenure, thus contributing to expanding the cooperation between Vietnam and Monaco in a practical manner.
