VFF President busy in Russia

Within the framework of their Russian visit, a high-level delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee led by Secretary of the Party Central Committee and VFF President Tran Thanh Man held seperate meetings with Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Iliyas Umakhanov and Leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) Gennady Zyuganov on September 24.

During the meetings, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Iliyas Umakhanov and Leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov both expressed their deep condolences to the Party, State, people of Vietnam over the passing of President Tran Dai Quang.

At the talks between VFF President Tran Thanh Man and Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Iliyas Umakhanov, the two sides emphasised that the time-honoured friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation has been built and developed over many years.

They also expressed their delight at the increasingly close and substantive relationship between the two countries, especially after the official visit to Russia by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in early September this year.

At the talks between the VFF President and Leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov, the two sides discussed a number of issues in bilateral ties.

They agreed that the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership has been developed and strengthened in many fields, as seen through the high level of political trust, increasing two-way trade and effective collaboration in defence, security, science, technology, education, training, culture and tourism.

The Vietnamese official expressed his gratitude to Russia for supporting the Vietnamese community in Russia.
