Overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia hold meaningful activities ahead of Tet

Vietnamese Embassy and Consulate Generals in the Kingdom of Cambodia held various significant community activities on January 22 for the occasion of the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival.

The Vietnamese Embassy, in collaboration with the Defense Attaché Office in Cambodia, offered incense and laid wreaths at the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Monument in the capital city of Phnom Penh.

Ambassador Vu Quang Minh, along with officials and employees of the Embassy, the Khmer – Vietnam Association and Vietnamese enterprises, representative offices and families, paid tribute to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed their lives to liberate Cambodia from colonialism and imperialist aggression, especially the genocidal Pol Pot regime.

Vietnamese Consulate General in Battambang has collected more than four tonnes of rice to help overseas Vietnamese who are living in difficult circumstances.

On the occasion, Vietnamese Consulate Generals in the provinces of Battambang and Preah Sihanouk also paid homage to Vietnamese heroic martyrs. In addition, the two agencies visited and presented rice and Tet gifts to over 400 overseas Vietnamese families who are living in difficult circumstances in localities of the provinces of Bontiamienchay, Battambang and Preah Sihanouk.

The attention and Tet gifts have contributed to bringing joy to the overseas Vietnamese community in the host country ahead of the happy and warm Tet Festival.

Vietnamese people in Preah Sihanouk are happy to receive Tet gifts.
