Cuba newspaper highlights Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements

Cubadebate, Cuba’s larges official online newspaper, ran an article on April 7 spotlighting the socio-economic achievements of Vietnam in recent years while highlighting its newly elected leadership positions.

The article, published after the National Assembly of Vietnam elected its key State leaders, providesinformation and data to highlight Vietnam’s socio-economic development results and praise Vietnam's achievements in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The article stated that despite the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Vietnam’s economy recordedthe highest growth in Asia with total GDP up 2.9%, ranking it in the world’s top 10 economic performers in 2020.

It also reiterated the 13th National Party Congress of Vietnam acknowledged these achievements while affirming that Vietnam is still facing many challenges.

Delegates attending the Party Congress passed a resolution to assert Vietnam’s persistence with Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought as well as its national independence and socialist targets, according to the article.

Regarding the new senior leadership, the article stated the new generation of Vietnamese leaders will continue to strengthen Party building and rectification while streamlining the State administrative apparatus.

The author of the article believes Vietnam will continue to promote its relations with countries in Latin America and the Caribbean region in both politics, diplomacy, economy and trade. Of which, Cuba will be a high priority for Vietnam based on the deep friendship and solidarity between the Parties, States and peoples of both countries.
