Vietnam and Russia enhance cooperation

Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi held a meeting on July 22 with Chair of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs G. Karasin and leader of the Russia's Parliamentary Friendship Group with Vietnam V. Abramov.

At the meeting, the two sides had an open and substantive exchange of relations, strengthening these between the two parliaments and in terms of their cooperation at international and regional fora.

Chair of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs G. Karasin affirmed he would create the best conditions for Ambassador Khoi to fulfil his duties in Russia, contributing to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia.

The two sides affirmed that Vietnam and Russia consider each other a reliable partner in foreign policy. Currently, the two countries are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations and in 2022 will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi suggested that the Russian side pay more attention to promoting cooperation in the prevention and control of the COVID-19, especially pushing for the early transfer of vaccines to Vietnam.

Also at the meeting, the two sides agreed on the need to continue to promote economic - trade cooperation, especially in key projects, in order to increase two-way trade in the time to come.
