Nhan Dan newspaper delegation visits DPRK

A delegation of Nhan Dan Newspaper led by Deputy Editor-in-chief Dinh Nhu Hoan visited the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) from October 30-November 5 at the invitation of Rodong Sinmun Newspaper.

During the visit, Nhan Dan’s deputy editor-in-chief was welcomed by Rodong Sinmun’s editor-in-chief and held talks with its deputy editor-in-chief.

At the talks and meetings, heads of Rodong Sinmun highlighted the time-honoured friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries nurtured by President Kim Il-sung, President Ho Chi Minh and generations of the two countries’ leaders.

They expressed the belief that the visit would help to foster the relationship between the two Parties, two countries and two Party newspapers in particular.

For his part, Deputy Editor-in-chief Dinh Nhu Hoan restated Vietnam’s policy of treasuring the time-honoured solidarity, friendly and cooperative relationship with the Korean Party, State and people, while expressing delight at the positive results and reform measures to promote socio-economic development and improve the Korean people’s standards of living.

He appreciated the precious support of the Korean Workers’ Party and people for Vietnam during its struggle for independence in the past and the current national construction and defence, while expressing his belief that the Vietnam-DPRK relations would continue to be strengthened and thrive in the future.

The two sides briefed each other on the socio-economic development of each country in recent years and reviewed cooperation between the two Party newspapers on information dissemination and propagation, contributing to furthering Vietnam-DPRK relations.

Nhan Dan’s deputy editor-in-chief conveyed regards and presented gifts from Nhan Dan staff to Rodong Sinmun as a gesture of support to the Korean people devastated by recent floods.

On the occasion, the Nhan Dan delegation visited the hometown of President Kim Il-sung, paid tribute to President Kim Il-sung and leader Kim Jong-il at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun.

The delegation also visited a revolutionary base, an orphanage in Pyongyang, a number of historical, cultural and economic sites, and the Vietnamese Embassy in Pyongyang.
