Speaking of her great appreciation for the Vietnam visit of the UVFPG delegation, Vice Chairwoman Anh affirmed that Vietnamese people always keep in mind the huge support provided by Ukrainians during Vietnam’s national struggle for independence and reunification.

Briefing the guest on HCMC’s socio-economic situation and the operations of the city’s people’s council, the Vice Chairwoman expressed her hopes for further cooperation between Ukraine and HCMC for their mutual development.

She called on parliamentarians of both countries to promote their role in connecting and supporting Ukrainian and Vietnamese businesses, including those from HCMC.

For her part, Chairwoman Yurynets Oksana Vasylivna, who is also chairperson of the subcommittee for regional development and trans-border cooperation between Ukraine and the EU Committee for European integration, said she has been impressed by the robust and dynamic development of Vietnam and HCMC in particular, stressing that both Vietnam and Ukraine share many similarities, including the people’s undaunted spirit in the two countries’ struggles for national independence.

Such similarities have facilitated the two sides in fostering their friendship and cooperation in education, science and technology, she said.

She also hoped for more practical activities to boost bilateral ties from central to local levels of their common concern and in potential domains.
