National Assembly Standing Committee convenes 24th session

The 24th session of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee commenced in Hanoi on May 14.

In her speech at the opening session, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that during the three-day session, the NASC will discuss two draft laws, including the draft revised People’s Police Law and the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Planning Law.

The Standing Committee will also give their opinion on the report on a supplementary assessment of the implementation of socio-economic development and the State budget plans in 2017; as well as evaluate the implementation of the plan for socio-economic development and the State budget over the first months of 2018; and the report on the settlement of voter petitions submitted to the fourth session of the NA, and the report on opinions and proposals of voters submitted to the fifth session of the NA.

In addition, the NASC will discuss the personnel work and review reports on the implementation of social insurance policies, the management and use of the social insurance fund in 2017, and conduct an evaluation of the implementation of the NASC Resolution No.1083 on the expenses for management of social insurance and unemployment insurance in the 2016-2018 period.

The establishment of the People’s Procuracy and the People’s Court of Phuc Yen city in the northern province of Vinh Phuc will also be considered.

The same day, under the chair of NA Vice Chairman Phung Quoc Hien, NASC members discussed the report on supplementary assessment of the results of the implementation of socio-economic development and the State budget plans in 2017 and for the first months of 2018.
