Delegates in attendance reviewed the historical meaning of the event that took place on July 26, 1953.

Nancy Coro Aguitar, deputy Cuban ambassador to Vietnam, said that although the attack on the Moncada army garrison was not a decisive victory for the Cuban revolution at the time, it helped to set out a path and map out a credo for national liberation, and opened up the door to socialism for Cuba.

She affirmed that many generations of Cuban people have grown up with a special admiration and affection for the Vietnamese people.

Vietnam and Cuba have built a solid relationship that has developed far beyond the level of diplomatic relations, Nancy Coro Aguitar said, hailing the bilateral ties as being of an impartial, exemplary, faithful, trustworthy, comprehensively cooperative, and brotherly relationship.

The diplomat stated that the two countries have cooperated and shared multiple experiences in socio-economic development and national construction.
