The ceremony was attended by Politburo members: Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education, Vo Van Thuong, and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, Truong Hoa Binh.
Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong highlighted the Commission’s essential role in sharpening soldiers’ political awareness and inspiring the people’s revolutionary ideology.
The development of the communications and education sector is mainly attributed to the support of the Party, State, President Ho Chi Minh and the people, he said, adding that the title demonstrates the Party and State’s recognition of the commission’s outstanding victories and contributions to national liberation and reunification.
At the ceremony, authorised by President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” to the Communications and Education Commission of Region 5’s Party Committee.
