Speaking at the reception, Minister Lam emphasised that, over the past few years, the cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand in general, and between the Ministry of Public Security and the NSC in particular, has been increasingly consolidated and developed.

He also emphasised the importance of cooperation in responding to non-traditional security challenges, such as climate change, energy security, food security, water security, natural disasters, and epidemics.

Wanlop Rugsanaoh, head of the Thai JWG, and representatives from Thailand’s ministries and sectors concerned, visited Vietnam from August 5-8 in order to attend the 10th meeting of the JWG.

He expressed his thanks to the Vietnamese side for their warm hospitality and thorough preparations for the meeting.

At the meeting, the two sides also discussed specific measures to improve the efficiency of the JWG on politics and security.
