Boosting professional exchange between the courts of Vietnam and China

The leader of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam held a meeting with a high-ranking delegation of the Supreme People's Court of China on September 18 with the aim of promoting professional exchanges and research between the two countries' courts.

At the meeting, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court Le Hong Quang, said that the visit of the delegation demonstrated the close relationship between the two courts and the friendly diplomatic relations between the two Parties and States.

Agreeing with the Vietnamese Deputy Chief Justice, Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court of China Zhou Qiang said that cooperation activities between the court sectors of the two countries have had many bright spots over recent years, including the visit to China by Secretary of the Vietnam Communist Party Central Committee and Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam Nguyen Hoa Binh in May 5, 2018.

He noted that the two countries' court sectors share many similarities including the backlogs in the number of cases in big cities.

The guest said that People's Supreme Court of China has an institute specialising in carrying out research on unprecedented cases while expressing his wish for further bilateral cooperation in this area.

Chief Justice of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court Ung Thi Xuan Huong informed the guests about the operations of the municipal court which is the leading court in the country to pilot many projects such as juvenile and family courts.
