Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Monument inaugurated in Kep

A Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Monument was inaugurated in Kep city, Cambodia, on October 20, as a testimony to the friendship between the military and people of the two countries.

The event witnessed the presence of Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection, and President of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Association, Men Saman, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh, and Vietnamese Defense Attaché Colonel Nguyen Anh Dung.

Deputy PM Men Saman expressed her delight at the inauguration of the monument, affirming that the construction of the monument aimed to remember and show gratitude to the Vietnamese and Cambodian soldiers who laid down their lives for the liberation of Cambodia and the Cambodian victory over the genocidal Khmer Rouge regime.

She emphasised that the monument is evidence of the friendship between the army and people of the two countries, who have always stood side by side for Cambodian freedom and development.

Vietnamese Defense Attaché Colonel Nguyen Anh Dung said that the conservation and building of Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Monuments in provinces and cities in Cambodia demonstrates the traditional friendship and relations between the two countries.

This is the 11th monument of its kind in Cambodia.
