Cambodian National Day marked in Ho Chi Minh City

NDO – The 65th National Day of Cambodia (November 9, 1953-2018) was celebrated at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on November 8.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City chapter of the Vietnam–Cambodia Friendship Association, Truong Minh Nhut, emphasised that, over the past 65 years, the Cambodian people have gained great achievements in all fields, improving their lives as well as improving the position and prestige of the country in the international arena.

He also noted that the two countries have strived to enhance the traditional friendship, solidarity and cooperation, as well as coordinating closely at international forums in order to lift the bilateral relations to a new height, for the interests of the two peoples and for peace, stability, and development cooperation in the region,

Cambodian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Im Hen, stressed that the Vietnam - Cambodia friendship has become an invaluable heritage of the two peoples which has been nurtured and developed by generations of leaders and people of the two nations.

On the occasion, he expressed his sincere thanks to Vietnamese Party, Government, army and people for helping his country to escape from the genocidal Pol Pot regime in 1979, bringing independence, happiness and prosperity to Cambodia.
