The event was also attended by Politburo members: Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue and Defence Minister Ngo Xuan Lich; among others.

Speaking at the working session, the PM hailed the efforts and determination of the Central Military Commission and Defence Ministry in the management and use of the land for national defence purposes in production and business associated with military and defense tasks.

He also appreciated the achievements by military officers and soldiers in production and labour over the past years.

The Government leader asked the Central Military Commission and Defence Ministry to receive comments and complete documents for submission to the Politburo, particularly the allowance for enterprises which are carrying out military and defence tasks and defensive economic units to use defence-purposed land for production and business.

He noted that the documents should focus on the resolute liquidation and termination of contracts that have expired and been inaccurate or ineffective, as well as the allowance of effective and suitable ones to run to the end of their terms.

The Defence Ministry should set an example in the equitisation, divestment and handing over the land used by enterprises engaged purely in construction, trade and services and those related to military and defence missions in a low level back to localities for the socio-economic development and management, the PM added.

PM Phuc also asked the ministry to set basic and long-term policies and solutions to closely manage the defence-purposed lands, for both national defence and development.
