PM asks for safe and long-term preservation of President Ho Chi Minh's remains

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has emphasised the significance of the long-term preservation and absolute protection of President Ho Chi Minh's corpse, saying that it is a common task of the entire political system.

The cabinet leader was speaking at a conference held by the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board in Hanoi on August 29, summarising 50 years of long-term preservation and absolute protection of President Ho Chi Minh's remains (1969-2019).

Praising the efforts by the Management Board, the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command and Russian experts in the work, PM Phuc affirmed that in the past five decades, the relevant units and individuals have performed well the task of preserving the late President's corpse, while welcoming and serving the people and international visitors to come to pay tribute to the beloved President at his mausoleum.

They have regularly maintained the architecture, landscape and environment of the mausoleum and the surrounding facilities in the Ba Dinh Square, making an important contribution to the propagation and education of President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology and morality among the people and international friends.

In order to promote the achievements of the past 50 years and perform well the long-term preservation and absolute protection of President Ho Chi Minh's remains, PM Phuc asked the relevant ministries, agencies and localities to coordinate and support the mausoleum’s Management Board in successfully fulfilling its task.

He urged the board to strengthen cooperation with domestic and foreign medical establishments, especially the Moscow Biomedical Research Centre, to master technologies and apply modern techniques to promote the work.

The PM also requested to continue to better organise the communications on Uncle Ho's revolutionary identity and career in order to spread President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style among the whole Party, the people and the army, while strengthening close coordination with the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Public Security and the Hanoi’s authorities to ensure absolute safety for the mausoleum.

At the conference, on behalf of the Party and State’s leaders, PM Phuc presented Vietnam’s noble orders to the leaders of the Russian Embassy in Vietnam and the Moscow Biomedical Research Centre, as well as the Vietnamese collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in preserving President Ho Chi Minh's remains.
